Shops change. Chairs change. The barbers who keep earning are the ones whose clients follow the name, not the address.
Strip everything else away, the shop, the chair, the neighborhood, and a barber's real asset is the list of people who will book them again. The industry data is blunt about how concentrated that asset is: the loyal core of your client list produces the overwhelming majority of your revenue.
If that list lives in a shop's system, a marketplace's database, or your DMs, you don't own it. The move, and every barber eventually moves, is where careers reset to zero. It doesn't have to.
Your own page, your name, your work, your prices, your reviews, your booking link, is the difference between being “the barber at that shop on Main” and being someone people search for by name. Other apps rent you attention and take a cut from your clients forever. Your own page builds up instead: every review, every photo, every rebooking makes it worth more, and it comes with you if you move shops.
Do these four things while you don't need them, and the day you change chairs becomes a location update instead of a restart:
